Welcome..

Hi, my name is Sara...

and I have been working as a qualified counsellor since 2014.  I offer private and confidential counselling, within a safe space, face to face, telephone or zoom.

About Me

I trained as a Person-Centred Counsellor and feel that to place the individual – you - at the centre of the process is one of the most important factors within the counselling process. Because you will be the most important person within the counselling situation, I will go at your pace and will be most interested in your own agenda.

I am also trained to use some Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Approaches, which I tend to only consider if you feel it may help you and your situation.

I trained and was qualified as a Systemic Family Practitioner in 2023 and have practiced working alongside  families since then. Although I do not practice privately as a Family Practitioner I use the Family Systemic Approaches within my private individual practice.

I have worked with Children and Young People within School and College settings since I qualified in 2014.

My Practice

As well as working as a private practitioner, for 1 day a week, I also work for the well-known counselling organisation, with children and young people and families.

My background prior to working as a counsellor is working within Mental Health alongside vulnerable adults for the local authority and alongside Leicester Police.

Within my roles I have experience or working with many different difficulties for example: anxiety, stress, bereavement, depression/low mood, low self-esteem, family/relationship difficulties, trauma, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, bullying, and self-harm/suicidal ideation.

Your First Session

To arrange the first session, you can contact me via email, and we can set up a 20-minute telephone call prior to you attending.

This will give us a chance to discuss what you would like to talk about in your sessions, and help you decide if you feel comfortable with arranging an initial meeting with me.

At the initial meeting I will carry out a short assessment, just to help me understand the difficulties that you are experiencing. We will also discuss a counselling contract and look at what’s right for you.

This counselling contract does not require you to attend a certain number of sessions. It will be your choice as to whether you want short- or longer-term counselling.

What I may be able to help you with:

Anxiety & Stress

Bereavement & Loss

Issues relating to children
